Military Training

Image
I saw this on a blog I follow.  I have the same comment as the blogger.  What is going on?  Is this what happens in the military?  Why is the guy naked?  It makes me wonder about the military again.  Is this how they ensure people learn the lessons?

Reclaiming Zarah by Jennifer Cole

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I liked this book.  Ms. Cole's Zarah is running into the usual marital relation issues as a new mother.  Zarah's situation is complicated by having two husbands.  Both Lane and Jack are lovely husbands.  The triad seems to be working great for them, despite the mommy blues. Trying to capture the feelings before was fun to watch.  The sex was good.  Hmm mmm.

Ms. Cole creates a realistic portray of 3 people trying to make their non traditional marriage work.  I particularly like the misconceptions other people have about Zarah due to her triad.  Ms. Cole does an excellent job of confronting this head on.  The result of the miscommunication, I'm more skeptical of because I don't believe the person would have really responded the way Ms. Cole laid out.

What I didn't like is the two men didn't have a relationship with each other.  Sure they were best friends, but they weren't sexually intimate with each …

Tramp Stamp Club by Laura Cooper

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This is the second book in the Tramp Stamp Club.  I wish there was a way to give 1/2 stars, because this book is 3.5 stars in my opinion.  I enjoyed this book more not only because a secret society of men was revealed, but because it explained the beginnings of the Tramp Stamp club.  I found it surprising the original men's secret club was really more of femdom.  This caught me off guard and I found it deliciously wicked!  Ms. Cooper, you naughty little minx.  The scene where it was first revealed where prominent men are dominated by their wife was hot.  Too bad the scene didn't last a bit longer. *wink wink, hint hint*

I enjoyed the developing relationship between Ellen and Jonathon.  Ellen is a woman I can definitely rate to and I admire.  Her sister, Elise, whew, they do say older sisters are protective and I have to admit, I'd be just as hot and angry as Elise.  In addition, I think I would have wreaked more hav…

Tramp Stamp Club: My Slut Wife Training by Laura Cooper

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Ms. Cooper is a new author for me.  She kindly sent me her books for review.  She claims she doesn't write much about BDSM.  Me thinks she doth protests too much.  This book was filled with sex scenes that easily had me wishing for a toy near by.  The premise of the story is a popular one, especially in some of the male writing circles.  As a new author to this genre, I definitely see the potential of Ms. Cooper and I definitely want to read more of her work.

Now we get to the critiquing part.  This book's premise is fun with a wife, Laura, who has a boring sex life with her husband yet wants a change.  With children and work, it's understandable that marital relations are at a strain.  What is also believable. is Karen, a friend of Laura, trying to get her to experiment more, to spice up the sex life.  Here is where I deviate.  While a wife becoming a slut is a hot theme, for a wife to do this…

Safeword: Rainbow

Safeword: Rainbow by Candace Blevins

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

People in the groups I'm in keep talking about this book.  Some find it too much; others loved it.  I bought it because people kept pushing it at me and I caved into peer pressure.  I waited a couple of months before I finally decided to read it.  WHY DID NO ONE MENTION THE DOM WORKED FOR THE CIA?  If there is anything that will immediately catch my interest, it is a spy.  Especially a male spy who is a dom.  Seriously, men in positions of law enforcement authority just do something to me.

I was hooked from the beginning.  Master James/Tyler frightened yet excited me.  He truly can be a sadist.  I could understand Vivien's worries and fear.  Some of the hang ups she had, I don't have so it didn't cause me confusion when it turned me on.  I am glad the two were able to work it out.  The amount of pain he put her through was breathtaking.  It made me a bit uncomfortable because I found myself wanting to experie…

Urban Prey

Urban Prey by S.J. Lewis

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Ron is back!  I enjoyed Ron in .  This book which is all from a man's perspective has been a fun read.  I enjoyed Ron's thought process.  What I really enjoyed was how Ron was able to read The Female and figure out her real desire.  This is what I enjoyed best about this book.  What woman doesn't want to be the sole focus and center of attention from a hot, sexy, dominant, caring and intelligent male?  When said male then studies the woman to figures out what makes her tick and ALSO makes her dirty deviant dark fantasies come true . . . amazing! It's a dream come true.

This book by Mr. Lewis is a fast and enjoyable read.  The characters are fun.  The new setting within a urban environment was a nice change.  I liked learning more about this underground society.  Mr. Lewis once again adds a fun cat and mouse game in his story.  There is something about being hunted and chased that really turns a woman on, especially if s…

Duck! by Kim Dare

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I now understand why so many people have recommended this book to me.  I cried.  I tried not to cry, but I cried.  Oh the dear sweet darling ugly duckling, how could you not know what you were going to turn out to be?  How can you not know of the story "The Ugly Duckling"?  I generally don't read m/m erotica.  This is my second one and I couldn't believe how much I enjoyed this story.

Ori Jones is such a sweet, sweet sub.  His utter lack of artifice is endearing.  I shiver at the masterful Hawk.  He exudes everything I would want in a Dom.  Too bad he only has a thing for males.  Speaking of males, this is the first book I've ever read where there isn't a single woman in the book.  How odd is this?  I didn't realize it while I read the book, but afterward, I found it puzzling.  I also found it puzzling how Mr. Hamilton switched from callously negligent, to abusively annoying and finally to solicitously caring an…

A Doll's Story

A Doll's Story by Lez Lewis

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This is a long novel, promising to be the first of ten.  Honestly, this book was difficult for me to finish.  I picked it up several times and had to put it down.  After I finished the book, I did a bit more research and learned it was inspired by the on line sex game, Sociolotron, http://www.sociolotron.com.  This is just not my type of book.  I don't enjoy role playing games so this probably added to my confusion and lack of engagement.  The constant thoughts going through my head while reading this book was, "Where do these people come from that they can't remember? And what the HELL is going on?".  I believe a lot of this had to do with the fact that I had no baseline understanding of this world and I frankly, didn't care for the characters enough to have a vested interest to learn about them.

I probably would rate this a 2.5 star, but I'm not and here is why.

Ms. Lewis does create an intriguing worl…
