Review: Submission in Paradise

Submission in Paradise by Claire Thompson

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Fantasy island complete with a sexy male dominant and a BDSM dungeon? Is this Exit to Eden? Where does one book this trip? It would be fabulous! For Shea Devon, it's a forced vacation which goes awry. Her fantasy is romance with candle light dinners. Instead, she's been thrown into the lion's den with spankings, floggings and a cage. Poor Shea doesn't even know what a safeword means!

Liam Jordan helps out a friend by taking on the one week job to be a dominant on her sex fantasy island. A careless employee mixes up the questionnaires and Liam is becomes a nightmare date for Shea. Liam is even more embarrassed than Shea. This bit of comedy of errors is pretty amusing from a reader perspective. Ms. Thompson does a great job of turning a nightmare into a dream come true.

The BDSM in this story is pretty hawt. The floggings and the D/s 101 are perfect for those just learning about BDSM. They ar…

Review: His Little Treasure

His Little Treasure by Sindra van Yssel

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

New to BDSM and want to know what not to do? This is the book to clearly show the "goofs".

Emma is a shy exhibitionist who goes with her friend Valerie to a weekend of kinky fun at the Bondage Ranch. She is in search of a strong alpha Dominant to blow her mind. Diego is a Dominant who finds Emma attractive and is ready to test her boundaries.

This series is definitely one for the Gateway to BDSM readers. Emma is an interesting character. She's just starting in her BDSM journey. She comes with many preconceived notions as well as some sexual hang-ups. Ms. van Yssel does a good job of showing how a person new to the lifestyle needs to work through some of their fears. While Emma may be aggravating to me with how she response to Diego, I can easily see someone who is nervous about kinky sex respond in this manner.

What is really good about this story is how Diego, a more experienced lifestyler, helps Emma on her sex…

Review: Static

Static by L.A. Witt

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Heartbreaking violation perpetrated by family members will always catch my attention.  Ms. Witt is an author I can always depend on for a great read.  Static may be a revision for her, but it is new to me and breaks my heart.  It is a bit embarrassing to cry whilst reading this book on the airplane.  This book moved me.  If you haven't read it yet, buy the book and read it now.

Ms. Witt takes a concept and totally runs with it.  The way she presents an idea and makes it relatable is truly an art form.  Damon is a man who loves his very moody girlfriend, Alex.  Worried about Alex, he goes over to her home only to find a man there instead.  Surprise, it's his girlfriend, now a boyfriend.  Ms. Witt creates a fascination supposition.  What happens if the person you love is no longer the physically sexual gender you started out with?  What happens if she becomes a he?  What happens if you are not bisexual?

Rather than take the standard animal…

Review: Sovereign

Secret identities are revealed in the latest installment of the Clutch Wars series. Is this the end? The main characters and secondary characters are all nicely paired up. The latest in is Korin Meyers who runs the underground fighting ring and Beau Trainor. Beau is a dragon with the Bryn Navarro clan. In the last novella, Beau met Korin when Dr. Shane was nearly killed off by Korin's brother.

This story moves very fast. The resolution with the demons ends at the hands of a powerful entity previously hidden. Not only does this new type of supernatural creature come out of nowhere, Sal the healing demon is more than just another demon. The reveals in this story come out of left field. It works for the story but it's a little too pat. This story is like a little Hershey Kiss. It's simple, bit size and melts in your mouth.

The sexy hawt part of this story is Beau and Korin getting it on. There are a couple of …

Review: Misbehaving

Misbehaving by Tiffany Reisz

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

A sex blogger in search of a sexual partner to test out a sexual manual to write a book review.  Now why didn't I think of this?  Beatriz is a sex blogger who is paid to review sex toys and books.  She receives free sex toys.  I'm still stuck on this part due to envy.  Beatriz is attending Carolyn, her sister's wedding.  Even though she's on vacation, she ends up having to work.  It's a tough job, but someone has to do it.  Ben, the boy who left her high and dry in college is also at the wedding.  Sparks fly when they meet up.

Ms. Reisz is an excellent erotic writer.  Her trademark seems to be female leads who are sexually comfortable in their own skin.  In addition, they are sexually open and their occupation involves writing.  It's good that Ms. Reisz what she knows, because the stories come across positive and well researched.

Ms. Reisz's characters are fun.  In this light hearted erotic story, there are…

Review: Circle of Desire

Circle of Desire by Keri Arthur

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Children kidnapped, tortured and killed is abhorrent.  Immediately, this plot is going to generate more emotion in me.  I'm actively engaged and wanting to know more.  I want the evil responsible to be completely exterminated.  This is a job for Katherine aka Kat.  She and her grandmother are part of the investigative team from Damask Circle.  They are psychics and shifters prepared to do what they must to hunt down the kidnappers and rescue the children.  They are hindered by a "muggle" cop, Ethan.

Ethan is a werewolf shifter yet he doesn't believe in the paranormal world.  His eyes are forced wide open as Kat exposes him to zombies, vampires and witches - oh my!  Ethan struggles with his need to bring the perpetrators to a court of law and putting them down.  Is it wrong to not have issues with killing monsters?  Yes, I have no issues being judge, jury and executioner.  It seems Kat doesn't have this iss…

Review: Do Not Disturb

Do Not Disturb: An Erotica Collection by Rachel Kramer Bussel

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

An erotic feast is decadently catered by the talented author and editor Ms. Kramer.  Do Not Disturb is a collection surrounding erotica and sex with a theme location - hotel rooms.  It is quite apropos this reader read the anthology on a business trip whilst staying in a lovely hotel room.  Every single story is a steamy erotic read.  There is not a bad one in the bunch.  Once again, the reader is treated to sumptuous sexual combinations.  This is to be expected when Ms. Kramer is involved in a book's publication.

The authors titillate a reader through their witty dialog or blast the reader with arousing imagery.  My favourite one is by Ms. de Fer.  Her story leaves a reader yearning for me.  It ends right as it gets really good.

‘I’m sure you’ll have a lovely time,’ Emma said, her warmth as genuine as a prostitute’s orgasm. (A Touch of Class, a Bit of Rough by Rose de Fer, p.86)

The Summary

Brianna is lost for the fourth time in her life. Each time was unexpected, and each changed the course of her future. The first life-altering event occurred when her mother died, and she moved to Minnesota to live with her father.

The second was when she was kidnapped at the age of seventeen and forced to be a slave. She would never forget those ten months. Brianna thought her life was over.

Everything changed again the day Stephan steamrolled into her life and brought her home to live with him. She had no idea what to expect—what life with her new Master would hold. That first month with Stephan was, in some ways, more confusing than the prior ten. As a slave, she’d known her place. With Stephan everything was new and different. He’d given her freedom and so much more.

Five months after Stephan rescued her, Brianna once again finds her life flipped upside down.

In this fourth…
