Review: Heart of a Hunter

Heart of a Hunter Heart of a Hunter by Tamela Miles
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Love demon slaying teenage females? There is a new Buffy in town. Elle Connor is ready to graduate from high school and leave home. Her neglectful parents are best viewed in a rear view mirror as she takes off as fast as she can. Elle has no plans for her life, other than spending it with Brandon, her boyfriend. When she is attacked, she is saved by Divine intervention. To add to this surprise, she finds out she is a demon hunter.

For those who enjoy Buffy the Vampire slayer by Mr. Whedon or The Hunter series by Ms. Walker, this is the book for you. This is a short teaser kicking off the series. This tale centers around Elle training and learning what being a hunter means. This is tightly written story which reveals a little bit of the world and focuses on the character development. This is not a happily ever after ending. The story moves quickly and hooks a reader into wanting to read the next book. Recommended for young adult readers who enjoy a strong heroine with a broken heart.
