Giddy-up cowboys and cowgirls, it is time for a side trip to the wild wild west. After the terrible fiasco with Finn's mother, another blow hits him. She left him her theme park, Bullet Pointe. Needing some downtime to overcome the consequences of Finn's blind faith in his mother, this looks to be the perfect time to check out the theme park. Upon arrival, it is immediately apparent there is more than meets the eye. Is it just me or does trouble follow Gin? She can not seem to go anywhere without death, destruction and betrayal. Are we sure Gin isn't the cause instead of the focal point? Musing aside, this story continues the arc about this hidden group of elite movers and shakers.

More pieces to Gin's past is revealed and it is starting to show a slightly tainted version of Gin's dead mother. Although, th…

Review: Chaos Rises

Chaos Rises by Pippa DaCosta
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Betrayal, pain and constant warfare, that is all Gemma knows. She never asked for this life, but this is what she gets as a lab rat bred for unknown purposes. After she and her brother, Del, escape through the Veil and into the States, she makes a bargain with the devil. This series is a new spin off from Ms. DaCosta's Beyond the Veil Series. Whilst it isn't necessary to read the other series, it does help a bit.

This series did not pull me in as much as the other. Gemma seems to be a watered down version of Muse from the other series. It isn't that Gemma is bad or lacking, she just seems hard for me to warm up to. She is conflicted and twisted. She is in some senses an anti-hero. She isn't one I'm impressed with because at the heart of it, she is trying to stay willfully ignorant. It is clear she is being played yet she keeps lying to herself. Perhaps this is why it makes it difficult for me to become engaged. I…

@candaceblevins Must read paranormal erotic with lovable characters and fabulous sex #5star #erotic
Careful What You Ask For by Candace Blevins
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Buy this book now! I've read this book about 8 times since I received it for beta review. Ms. Blevins writes another phenomena erotica with character development, world building and a great plot. This is as close as she gets to vanilla sex! Do not fret kinky readers, there is enough rough sex to keep you humming.

This story focuses on Briana who I thought was a throwaway character in a couple of other books. She is young (19) and desperately wants to be able to shift into her wolf. Her parents are wolves. Her brothers shift into wolves. She is the only stuck in human form even after trying to force the change through a shifter biting her. This is her last chance. She is trying to get a bitten shifter to bite her instead of a born one. Maybe this will be the one which makes her two forms finally come together.

Why is…
