Review: Master of Seduction

Master of Seduction Master of Seduction by Angela Knight
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Twist on King Arthur is a tale which intrigues me. I have read most of the stories in this series so I am predisposed to like this book. I really liked it. This short little novella brings us back to the Mageverse where the Magekind live. In this world, women are witches and men are vampires. The symbiotic relationship between the two is key to their survival. Becoming one or the other is not easy. Many candidates are passed over because the conversion to be a witch or a vampire can be too much and end up in catastrophic events. Whilst one can easily read this as a standalone, it is more enjoyable to read the earlier books and learn about their history.

In this tale, the main characters are Rachel and Nathaniel. Their conflict is one that plays over and over again through the centuries. One of Nathaniel's job is court seducer. If anything goes wrong, one of his second jobs is executioner. It must be hard on a loving and caring person who shares intimacy with one breathe and then cold killing in another. This is a hard job, especially if the latest candidate is as sexy as Rachel.

The pace of this book moves fast with a few reductions in speeds for some smexy time. Ms. Knight burns up the sheets or the pages of the book when Nathaniel and Rachel get busy. Ms. Knight's brand of erotica is easy to visualize and so sexy. Her characters are designed to have chemistry, even when they are being contrary. From my perspective, Ms. Knight is one of the pioneers in the bodice rippers which have matured into today's paranormal erotica. She is one of my go to authors when I need a paranormal erotica fix with vampires, witches and shifters - oh my. This latest book is a lovely addition to this universe. I look forward to the next one in this series. Recommended to paranormal romance readers who enjoy a bit of heat between their characters.
