If only the world still allowed slavery, what would it look like? In Empire of Bondage, Mr. England gives us a deliciously depraved glimpse into his Victorian slavery world. It is a wicked perspective. Within the introduction, the sexual compass is set with a delightful passage. “The nightly strapping away of his [slave boy] own member and strapping on of the dildo was designed to humiliate the boy. The dildo allowed him to service his mistress repeatedly until she was satisfied, while he became very excited but was unable to gain relief until his weekly servicing.”

This story is written in a clever manner. It’s designed to resemble a historical documentation of the British Empire in an alternative world. The sections are divided into logical parts. There is an introduction to the legal framework to help the reader understand the legalities and responsibilities of owning a slave. How a person becomes an owned slave is also informative. Intermixed between these “factual” pieces of information on how the country is run, anecdotal pieces are provided to provide a better illustration of the slave treatment. Regarding the actual illustration in art work in the book, they are amusing and arousing.

This book is very enjoyable because it hits on the humiliation aspects of sexual slavery. The non consensual parts and torments for slaves are graphic and just right. It is a well written book in which Mr. England clearly demonstrates his sense of humour. One may argue this book is not a safe BDSM lifestyle book. It’s not meant to be. Instead, it’s a lovely BDSM fantasy filled with improbable sadistic abuse along with forced body modification. No one will take this to be any sort of reality. It hits upon the reader’s inner darkness and lust for the forbidden taboo. The world Mr. England builds is not too outrageous. It’s even mildly plausible even if the sexual acts are not all feasible.

There is something that is missing in this book. There was a complete lack of anal violation and sex. This is rather odd. There was no pegging of Mistresses to slave boys. Nor were there any detailed scenes of Masters reaming the tightly bound slave girls. In fact, some of the punishments were repeated often enough it became a bit redundant in the end. None of the punishments were extreme. Since anal violation is generally denoted as the ultimate violation, one could theorize, this Empire of Bondage is still a rather civilized world with ethical standards. This BDSM fantasy is highly recommended to BDSM lovers who enjoy a tale of slavery and speculative fiction.
