Review: Shibari Auction House: Jack

Shibari Auction House: Jack by Sean Michael

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Loan sharks ready to bust kneecaps forces Jack to do something he never imagined. He is selling his body to be a sexual slave for three years. I'm hooked. I want to know what is going to happen to Jack.

Jack is very lucky as he's basically a virgin with no training and a great body. This increases his value. Frankly, I'm stunned with the amount of money paid to take Jack's anal virginity and the opportunity to train him to be a sexual submissive. Jack has a long road ahead of him since he can't even understand addressing his new owner with the appropriate title.

The story was too short for me. I believe this might be the start of a series. All we learn is Jack's purchase by JF at the auction house. The lengthy prep work prior to the auction was a little bit too much foreplay for me. Ultimately, it felt as if we are only watching act one of a play. There may be several more acts to follow, we do…

Review: Bound by Law

Bound by Law by S.E. Jakes

My rating: 3.5 of 5 stars

Styx is back! Is he here to stay? What is Law to do? Sexy Styx or precious Paulo? I say, "why not have both?" This is a 3.5 out of 5 stars for me. There is a plot in here, really, there is. Styx left Law and Damon to protect them from his psychotic assassin father. This I understand. Too bad he didn't communicate this with Law and Damon. Even though Styx finally put his father away, the escape and subsequent death threats on those he loves brings him back to Law.

This is where it becomes a complete sex book. WOOHOO! I like all three men. They are honourable, sexy and dangerous. What is it about men with military or cop background that turns me on so much? Their power? Their authority? Perhaps it's their ability to take down a bad guy with ruthlessness. Or is it because they are stealthy?

Reading page after page of hot rough sex between Law, Styx and Paulo had me salivating. The bondage scenes…

Review: The Librarian

The Librarian by Lee Brazil

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really liked this. 4.5 stars.
official review

Does the naughty professor or sexy strict librarian turn you on? Or are you in denial? Val is in such denial, he doesn't even know it. Val and Adrian have been friends since freshmen year in college when they were roommates. A brief fling leaves Adrian brokenhearted and pining for Val. Val's the stereotypical drama queen with a chip on his shoulder and deep-seated abandonment issues.

Fast forward ten years later – Val and Adrian are still friends. I'm frankly questioning why Adrian continues to carry this unrequited love for Val. Val shows the maturity of a hormonal fifteen year old. It's quite sad to watch Val's struggle for love with the wrong people. He's been stuck in a rut for ten years without understanding the reason. If anyone needs a therapist, Val would be the one. Fortunately for him, Adrian loves him.

In this story, the theme is actually love will wi…

Review: Defying the Odds

Defying the Odds by Kele Moon

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

FABULOUS! I am a die hard Kele Moon fan. This story about UFC was totally hot!

Official Review

Let's get ready to RUMBLE! I LOVED this book. I am an Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fan. Mixed martial arts (MMA) fighters turn me on. I enjoy watching the fights. What's not to like? Ripped men are half naked proving who the alpha man is by forcing the weaker man to submit. I love watching the submissions. Did I mention the sweaty almost naked cut bodies?

In DEFYING THE ODDS, the main character, Clay Powers, is a heavy weight UFC champion. Based on his description, I imagined Brock Lesnar the entire time. Clay is an intimidating barbarian with a soft teddy bear heart. He loves the fighting but is tired of the circus like media and the skanky ho groupies. When he meets Melody Dylan, it is kismet. She's the one he's been searching for, the person who gives him meaning. No one is more surprised than the frightened M…

Review: Cruel Enchantment

Cruel Enchantment by Anya Bast

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Why did I wait so long to read this book? I'm not sure if it is the mindset I'm in right now or if it's the writing, but this book just flat out did it for me. Talk about hot alpha male! Aeric is hot and pretty rough. I was actually hoping he'd make Emmaline pay for her supposed sins. When he threatened to chain her to his bed and make her pay for the wrongs she committed against him, I melted. Is this wrong?

The sex in this book it hot. I mean, we are talking about I wish my spouse was awake so I could jump him hot. The thing about fae stories, is that there is an inherent sexual sadistic side to their culture. Ms. Bast captures it in a way that makes me want bad bad things. Even though Lars is a sadistic psychotic sociopath, he exude a certain sensuality that I'm drawn too, like the moth to a flame. Yes, I'd be tortured and yes I'd be dead, but I can't say no. Yes, it's f-ed up.

Review: Contractual Obligation

Contractual Obligation by Tymber Dalton

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Do you choose your family or your lover? If you could save your parents from becoming destitute and homeless, but you had to sacrifice the love of your life, would you do it? What if you couldn't tell anyone why you chose your family? What if you couldn't tell your lover why you had to break up with him? Could you do this? These are the questions Doug struggles to answer.

Doug's parents' home is being threatened for foreclosure. Due to his good looks, he's found a job, which is too good to be true. His parents' home will be saved. His expensive MBA will be put to use. He even receives a new car and place to live. All of this comes at a price – sacrificing his relationship with Tate and pretending to be his new boss's boyfriend.

Review: Out of My League

Out of My League by Michele Zurlo

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Do you fantasize about the hot guy in the class you teach? Does he make you stutter and lose all thoughts? For Mia, Kaelen is this guy. She’s finishing her last semester as a teaching assistant to a much loathed professor. Kaelen is one of the older students; he is tall, hot and charming. She can just tell women flock to him. His flirty attitude with her flusters her every time.

To get Kaelen out of her system, Mia decides to buy a fantasy package from Oasis. The company grants fantasies at a price. The lengthy survey allows her to specify the kind of man she wants and what she wants him to do with her. Kaelen is the model for the man she wants. And a spanking is what she is going to hopefully receive.

This story was sweet and predictable. It was predictable in the sense that the reader knew Kaelen would turn out to be the mystery stranger showing up at Oasis. Since I’m starting in on book three and haven’t read the…

The guy next door is a hot cop who is nice and sexy, how can this be wrong? For Tristy, Grant is the one who mops up her tears after dating yet another dead beat jerk. She sexually fantasizes about Grant yet she refused to date him because she’s afraid. One would think she doesn’t want to lose their friendship so she’s keeping her distance. This would be a wrong assumption. Tristy is avoiding Grant for boyfriend material because she found out he’s a Dom. She doesn’t like that freaking perversion.

Grant is held in emotional hostage by Tristy. They have a great friendship and enjoy each other’s company. He fantasizes about her yet controls his desire because he knows his deviant sex life is too much for her.

At this point, I’m rolli…

D/s in the Real World ~ Rituals & Aftercare

Rituals are established procedures/system/rites that each D/s relationship uses to reinforce the D/s.

Sometimes people consider protocol to be rituals. Not exactly. Protocol is more focused on etiquette.

Now, why do Dom/mes provide rituals for bottoms/subs/slaves?

BECAUSE THEY LOVE IT! This training and consistency keeps the bottom in the D/s mindset. Now there is a balance required which is different for each bottom. Too much ritual and it becomes more of a brow beating which makes an unhappy bottom.

What happens when the rituals are not followed or broken?

This deals with punishment. For each D/s relationship, punishment is different. One example is to use the same toy for punishment so that toy is always associated with punishment. Some Dom/me also give warnings before punishment.

Basically, for the D/s to work smoothly, the underlying discipline and structure must be enforced. Creating a bunch of rules and rituals yet not holding the bottom to it will jeopardi…

D/S in the Real World - Why do we do this and Legalities

Why do we do this?

Each of us in this group is interested in this lifestyle in varying degrees. However, while we are a little island as a safe haven, we do live in the real world. There was a post previously on how to interact in the public versus private. While it was much heatedly debated, we all agreed that we have differing opinions.

Mistress J follows these rules. Most of these are common sense and once said, I kept nodding in agreement. She reminded the class this is her experience and how she has D/s in her life 24/7.

- We need to be respectful in the vanilla world because we live in it. There is no "island" like the ones in our fantasies or in our books.

- We are into BDSM because it brings another level of intimacy.

- Dominants enjoy D/s because they receive a power exchange.

- Submissive enjoy D/s because they are free to give power up to someone else that they trust.

Legal and Logistics

Now that you've decided upon a D/s relationship. The two o…

Review: Looking for Adventure

Looking for Adventure by Valentina Heart

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

(Mine is the second review)

Brain cancer is a life-changing event. Jonathan has no family and few friends. He focused purely on his career. He's wealthy and successful with a large office and great condo. It's debatable if his Pathfinder defines wealth. Personally, the Porsche Cayenne screams wealthy more than a Pathfinder. The inoperable brain cancer and less than two months to live is a wakeup call for Jonathan. He's worked so hard to succeed in his life and what happens? He doesn't even enjoy the fruits of his labour. He can't recall the last time he went on vacation.

Lost and confused, Jonathan literally trips over Nino. Nino is the antithesis of Jonathan. He's the happily little grasshopper playing and enjoying life. He's never held a steady job and he lives in the moment. It's serendipity they meet as Nino is the perfect companion to help Jonathan live out the last days of his life.

D/s in the Real World ~ Fantasy

Topics to be covered

* The Fantasy
* Why do we do this?
* Legal & Logistics
* Rituals - Public/private
* Aftercare (healing tips)

I went to this class on D/s in the real world. I found it to be educational. The presenter is a Mistress who has several female subs. She also has been a slave before she switch to be Mistress full time. As in 24/7. I want to first say, that there is no ONLY right way to have D/s in your life. This is from the perspective and experience of this Domme. I'm going to refer to her as Mistress J.

She's been in the lifestyle for more than 15 years if I recall correctly. Here are her lessons learned.

The Fantasy

What is it that we think D/s should be? Is it like how we read it in books such as The Marketplace? What is it about this book that draws us into it?

Here's a question for each of you, what book do you read over and over again and say, "I wish that my life could be like this?"

What is the underlying fantasy tha…

Review: Defeat the Darkness

Defeat the Darkness by Alexis Morgan

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Hunter is a wounded warrior. He's a pretty irritable one too. He has good reason as the "others" tortured him to death. Back on he mend, but not 100%, he's shipped off to Seattle to help my favourite group of Paladins. Bane and his crew found place where Kalithia could be sneaking in.

In Justice Point, Tate runs a tea shop/bed breakfast/gym and apartment for rent. What exactly is this place her uncle left her? Reading about her shop, I can't fathom how she makes any money. She gives food away and she doesn't really have that many customers.

This was a book I still enjoyed because Ms. Morgan is a good writer. The plot was easy to follow and anticipate what would happen next. The cast of character I enjoyed showed up in this story. Hunter is your typical Paladin and Tate is not too different than the other women. All in all, the story was a fast read and it's good to know my guess at wh…
