Review: Healing Hark

Healing Hark by Dakota Trace

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Pick up this book and read it now. This is book eight in the Chicago Doms series. This can be read as a standalone book. Harkalone aka Hark is an intimidating former special forces man who can move like a ghost. After losing his dominant and submissive in a horrible accident, he's never moved on. Three years later, he still pines away for what he once experienced. As a switch who enjoys both sides of D/s, he needs are oft ignored due to his physical presence. His concerned friends decide to try one last time to pull him out of his funk, before he dies of a broken heart, all alone. This ploy could majorly backfire.

Ms. Trace is an amazing writer when it comes to BDSM. Either she's in the lifestyle or she does thorough research. This book exudes BDSM testosterone which will make a submissively included reader whimper and moan in desire. With three males forming a true triad, it's delicious. To add three males w…

Review: Hot, Rich and Dominant - The Complete Collection

Hot, Rich and Dominant - The Complete Collection by Amy Valenti

My rating: 3.5 of 5 stars

Love sexy boss stories? This is one which will tickle your fancy. Hot, rich and dominant is the perfect title for this serial collection. Eleanor aka Nell is starting out a new job and it's great. She steps right into it the first day by insulting the CEO's son without knowing it. Marc Cassidy may be the owner's son but it's no free ride for him. He suffers under his tyrannical father.

What I liked about this book is the BDSM. Ms. Valenti writes arousing scenes which encourage "me-time". From an erotic hawtness meter, this is a 4 star. The BDSM scenes are realistic. There are fun ideas for couples who are excited with public play to try. Ms. Valenti is a solid author when it comes to great BDSM books. The fact that Marc is rich does not detract from the book. There are a slew of billionaire dominant books. This is a good one to read and can happily reside i…

Review: Bounce Down - 1st Quarter: Start of Play

Bounce Down - 1st Quarter: Start of Play by Lorraine Loveit

My rating: 2.5 of 5 stars

This is a 2.5 star book. It's more than just okay yet I can't say I enjoyed it completely. There are things to this story which puts me ill at ease and causes me to not like the overall message. Yet I still want to know what happens next. Suzie is a typist for the homicide squad. She possesses close friends and co-workers who like her. What she's missing is a man who excites her sexually. She wants to explore bondage and impact play. Is she submissive? She's not sure and she wants to find a dominant to play with and see if she enjoys it. Through a dating website, she meets Brendon. He's a famous footballer who doesn't want his sexual proclivities coming to light. He also doesn't want to deal with a girlfriend. He just wants a submissive to dominate, screw and then go back to his usual activities.

This story spends a lot of time with Suzie trying to justify why …

Review: Awakening Jessica

Awakening Jessica by Athena Michaels

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

For those who enjoyed the underlying erotic tone in the movie Black Swan and the romantic aspect to Phantom of the Opera, Awakening Jessica will be of interest. Jessica Thomson is the shy quiet ballet dancer who is oft overlooked. She's not part of the clique of popular albeit slutty prima donnas. Jessica is dedicated to dancing and yet her time is also split, consumed with her naughty pastime.

Jessica is a voyeur who enjoys watching the main male lead, Leo, seduce and sample every popular female student. Aroused and un-careful, Jessica is caught peeking and masturbating. Fortunately for her, the person decides to teach Jessica to be a better dancer whilst learning the art of sexual release.

The blurb is dead on with the Phantom of the Opera feel. The story is romantically sweet. This is a theme where the wallflower underdog is given a chance to shine. Jessica's glow comes more from just her new technical s…

Review: Byte Me!

Byte Me! by Roberta Steele

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Kinky film noire translated into word form can be quite fun. Ms. Steele is a new to me author who shows potential for more kinky fun. Sam is an PI who receives a new client. This new client is snobby and looks down upon her. Still, it is a paying job. She just needs to provide proof of the client's business partner behaving against the interest of the company. As Sam investigates, she uncovers some discrepancies between what her client says and what the business partner is really doing.

Cornell is the business partner who comes across as trustworthy. He does have a secret but it has nothing to do with work. He's a dominant and enjoys sexually controlling women. When Cornell and Sam's path cross, Sam is in for a wild ride.

The characters in this story are easy to visualize. Cornell is a sexy rich man. Sam is hardworking and ethical woman. The antagonists in this story are clearly exposed as greedy people with no…

Review: Pet to the Tentacle Monsters!

Pet to the Tentacle Monsters! by Lilia Ford

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Tentacles, non-consensual sex, spanking and gagging - how can I resist? Ms. Ford is a new to me author who I will be keeping my eye on. Pet to the Tentacle Monsters could be a porn without a plot story. It's not. It's a deviant twisted tale of a low achiever reaching his potential. Benji is an angry kid. He lives in a prison like reservations where humans try to do their best to survive. He's lost his family and is angry at the world.

At first this story's sci-fi elements remind me a bit of Soylent Green with the way people are given ratios for food. Then it comes across a bit District 9, except the extraterrestrial are actually humans living in slums. The ratings for a human's worthiness is interesting. Because in this story, with a rating of 1 to 10, the humans understand it to mean one thing while the tentacle monsters interpret it a bit differently which results in a lot of confusion …

Review: Tales of the Djinn: The Guardian

Tales of the Djinn: The Guardian by Emma Holly

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This isn't your mother's I Dream of Jeannie nor the genie in Disney's Aladdin.

Elyse Solomon is reeling from the death of her father and now her husband. Unmotivated and trying to get through life, she finally decides to rent out the basement unit her husband had finished. It's a tiny place with no view, but it does lead out to a secluded and lovely garden. To her surprise, two exotically handsome and well-dressed gentlemen rent it for a year, paid in cash. Suspicious of their possible criminal affiliation, Elyse keeps an eye on them.

Arcadius is used to luxury where he comes from. Gemstones grow on trees for his people to pluck. He's on Earth to find a way to get back home and save his people. This is where the story gets wild. He's a Djiin from another place called Qaf. He and his most trusted aide, Joseph, are trying to find a way back home. The only way is with the help of Elyse.

The wor…
