Review: Cheating Chance

Cheating Chance
Cheating Chance by James Buchanan

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

When does a geeky goth boy meet up with a hot Harley riding tattoo cop? When they hook up at a goth convention. I felt the same as one of the Detectives in the book. "There are goth conventions?" While that detective may have been incredulous. I'm more envious and wondering where the hell I was when I was a young goth kid. I would have loved to go to one of these places. Of course, This would have been 20 years ago and I'd probably be known as a "baby-bat". I think I'm okay with that term. From henceforth, I shall be known as "baby-bat" through all the lands. *snort*

This story is a 3.5 star for me. The plot worked really well for me. I liked Nick and couldn't understand Brandon. Well, okay, I can understand why Brandon wanted to keep it quiet and stay in the closet, but really, how could he have ragged on Nick at one point? Even I thought Brandon broke up with Nick. I was actually kind of confused they even had a relationship as lovers. I just thought Nick was an ass Brandon loved to tap and that was it. Guess I was wrong.

What I really enjoyed about this book was all the things I learned about the casinos and the gaming system. I don't know if these were accurate or even true. I hope they were because it was very educational. I love reading fiction which also teaches me something new about something I never thought to learn about. These chips and the agency to monitor gaming was fascinating for me. I loved it. Almost makes me want to go look it up and see if it is accurate.

There was very little BDSM in here. Well, there was a bit where a safeword was violated and some really hot bondage. But this book is focused on BDSM and I enjoyed it better because of how it was incorporated. Kinky! This book is recommended to romantic suspense lovers who enjoy gambling.
