For sensual erotic historical m/m romance, Ms. March is one of the go to authors. Request is the short story as a follow up to His Client. It's probably best to read His Client first. Still, this one I read as a standalone and it was smoking hawt.

Ms. March has a way with words as she uses the proper British vernacular in delightfully perverted ways. Specifically, the dilators in story as part of the medical play is arousing and naughty. Jasper is the "whore" who is retired and living in the country. The man of his dreams is Nate, a former client, who is also now in the country. The two of them continue their illicit affair behind closed doors. Nate's creative role-playing is inspiring for kinksters looking into medical play.

The conflict in this story is a familiar one and it works. Jasper and Nate are a sweet couple and their reconciliation is expected. After reading this book, it does make me want to read the first one. This kinky historical romance is recommended for m/m readers who enjoy playing "doctor".
