Review: Love's Salvation

Love's Salvation Love's Salvation by Jenny Penn
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Expecting to continue where the first book left off? Forget about it. This book has little to do with the first book in the series which makes it ideal to read as a standalone. The only tie in is the "Great Owl". The theme is in the same vein with two men who will share a woman.

Tex and Brock are werewolves who find Daisy with a little help from their "god". Daisy is a sweet female who is malleable under two alpha males. Or is she? She may be obedient but it does not equate to doormat. She just knows when to pick her battles.

This story took an odd turn with a curse tied to Devil's Peak and bloodlines cursed. This story takes a contrived miscommunication and an asshat father and makes it the central point of contention. This generates a type of angst that is frustrating. Arrogant men taking what they want and then lying about it is a story which seems to repeat itself through history. This causes long lasting feuds as well as tearing families apart.

This story is a bit more macabre with soul eating ghosts and malevolent males at every turn. It is depressing in ways that overshadow the erotic scenes between the three lovers. The menage is troubled with testosterone overload from both alpha males. Fortunately for Daisy, she is bendable and finds a way to work with Tex and Brock. This story felt like an odd turn down a dark alley. It is well written and a fast read. Recommend to menage lover who enjoy paranormal, alpha males and angst.
