Divorcing a best friend, dumping a douche bag fiance and then finding perhaps the man of your dreams all in less than a week is an accomplishment. Not sure if it is a good or bad feat, Lara's head is still whirling. This book overlaps the book Splendid Isolation which featured Lara's husband, Everett. This book can be read as a standalone but it is a better experienced if Splendid Isolation is read first.
Everett is now Lara's ex-husband. This was a long time coming and finally moving forward because of Lara's fiance, Steve, who wants to get married. Good thing Steve shows his true colours before the wedding and Lara avoids making a big mistake. Lara's track record with men has not been the best. A bit gun shy, she moves slowly with Brad. The pace is so slow, even I am hoping the two of them finally get it on.
Lara and Brad's relationship is a nice change of pace with a femdom dynamic. It is nice to see Lara's tentative steps towards kinky sex as this is all new to her.
