The Romance Review

On the naughty list and worried that Krampus is going to come after you? Not to worry because Krampus is focused on other issues. Badly behaving humans is the least of his worries. There is an anomaly with another Incarnation and for some reason, Nyx believes it is Krampus's job to figure it out. This is the fourth book in the series and can be read as a standalone. It is recommended to read the first three books because they are delicious.

I am totally team Krampus. He is a kinky bastard who can be ruthless. He is a task master for his creations and whilst it may be disturbing, it is still somehow just. For those who have issues with humans treated like meat, move along. Whilst this doesn't delve into the badly behaving humans, it does highlight the punishment for them. This dark humour is definitely up my alley.

This series is different for me. I thought it would be just one erotic short story after another. As Krampus changes sexual partners, the reader is exposed to sexy shenanigans. Surprisingly, Ms. Hart is building up the world. In each book, we learn a little more about this world of Incantations. We also learn more about Krampus's relationships with the other Incantations as well as how he came to be. This layering, book after book, keeps me coming back to the series. I eagerly looking forward to see the newest tidbit Ms. Hart stingily doles out.

Another reason I look forward to this series is the sex scenes. I love Krampus because he is pansexual with a devious mind. His open and honest loving is refreshing. His partners are all varied and alluring. He is the anti-hero with a heart of gold and a sex drive like the Energizer Bunny. What's not to like? Krampus may be distracted by sex at times, but he always comes down to the issue and solves it. His moral code is not what one would normally consider as on the side of "right". Still, he does what is right and without any fuss or muss. I like how he does not play favourites and seems to be more well balanced in his deals with others. Given a choice between Santa and Krampus, I go with Krampus in this series.

The latest in this series is recommended to kinky paranormal readers who have a dark sense of humour.
