The Romance Review

Erotic, steamy and unexpected, this is adelightful magical romance with a twist of the Twilight Zone. How have I not read books by Ms. Renquist before? This short story is just the right length and a delicious sweet romance. If this is the start of a series, I will devour every single one. There is hope as this book is denoted as part of Café Midnight series. I'm betting this collection will be like a decadent box of chocolates. Each one is a surprise - rich and tasty.

In this first one, Patrice is an overworked and stressed out wedding coordinator. Her boss and owner of the company is a creative artist. But it's really Patrice who works her magic to make a bride's wedding day a dream come true. The wedding business is a delicate balance of logistics and multiple contractors who sometimes drop the ball. It's up to Patrice to make it work or her company's reputation goes down. Sometimes the only way to decompress from the craziness is to get laid. It definitely isn't some crappy message of "Breathe and stay calm". Screw that stupid patronizing mantra. What Patrice needs is a man to help her unwind and kick the happy endorphins into overdrive. With such a busy schedule, how would she ever be able to fit him in, literally and figuratively?

This is where the Café Midnight comes into play. This magical place makes just the right tea to soothe Patrice and delivered by the sexy waiter, Kai. From that moment on, this story goes into the Twilight Erotic Zone and it is so good. I love the sex scenes. I love the interactions between Patrice and Kai. By not exactly explaining this world or how the magic works, it makes this tale a bit more mysterious. Sketchy world building usually doesn't work but in this case, it is just right. I can't wait to see what comes next. This erotic romance is recommended to romance readers who believe in a little magic.
