Review: Leopard's Wrath

Leopard's Wrath Leopard's Wrath by Christine Feehan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Fast and furious with a twist. In this latest Leopard series, Ania is a woman who can drive like no other. Her faster than usual reflexes makes her an ideal getaway driver. She reminds me of Jason Statham in the Transporter, except sexier. This book can be read as a standalone. There are references to other characters from previous books. Ms. Feehan does a great job of providing enough details for backstories and tie ins that it will help new readers pick up on the world very quickly. The details are also a good refresher for readers who haven't read this series in a while.

I loved Ania. She is a woman with spunk and does her very best to save her father. She isn't exactly a daddy's girl. She is best described as a dutiful and loving daughter to her parents and grandparents. The horrendous things which have happened to her family seems to be just the beginning of a new arc in this series. I'm liking it and wanting to know more. Whilst the focus is supposed to be on Ania and Mitya's passionate romance, I'm more intrigued by the underlying story…who is trying to uncover the secret of this consortium of leopard alpha males?

Don't get me wrong, the sex in this book is hawt with an extra heaping. I tend to enjoy Ms. Feehan's shifter series because the sex is more erotic and rougher. The mated pair's primal urges comes to the forefront. Ms. Feehan's descriptions are filled with sensory detail to bring the readers in as an intimate voyeur. Mitya and Ania's struggle for dominance is fun to watch. I particularly enjoy the leopards that reside within them. Mitya's leopard is barely holding on to sanity and his reasoning is coloured by this brutal upbringing. His threats to Ania's leopard is understandable if intimidating. Ania's leopard is hilarious. She's flirty and naughty. She's just asking for a spanking. The interplay between the characters as well as their animals enriches their relationship. This pulls me into the story more and I'm riveted.

Still, I'm curious as to who is trying to undermine the Leopard consortium. There are clues and a few red herrings thrown in. This only makes me want to read the next book in the series immediately. This paranormal romance with a good dose of suspense is recommended to readers who like strong women who can match the strong men in their lives.
