Buy this book now! The start of a new series featuring Mistresses by talented Ms. Hill is not to be missed. Full disclosure, I didn't read the blurb and I kept myself in the dark about this book as much as possible. I wanted the full experience going in cold. I can confidently state that after the first couple of chapters, cold was the furthest feeling I experienced. The erotica in this book is so hawt that I had to take several breaks for a bit of "me time".
When it comes to BDSM romance, Ms. Hill is one of my favourites. This contemporary kink contains it all: smoking hawt kink scenes, mind blowing stimulation, heartbreak and love. Let us not forget a strong female lead who has the balls to confront a gang leader and threaten his theoretical minuscule manhood.
Set in the world of the Knights of the Board Room, this is a parallel world where powerful women call the shots both in their boardroom and bedroom. What I liked about this series is how the women dominate different than the men. In addition, their fantasies are different than what a male dominant has for their female submissive. Just as the male submissive differ in their desires and fantasies. As a pansexual switch, this erotic power exchange caressed all my pleasure buttons with exciting force.
Ros is the main character and the first in her group of women who finds a "forever" submissive. What I like about Ros is that she's a survivor. She is a survivor who isn't perfect. Her past experience and loss drive how she views the world. Even when she is an amazing communicator, she still has flaws which makes her human. Her hot button which make sense when her back story is revealed, breaks my heart. I wept for her loss and her helplessness. As a woman who is focused on solutions and fixing problems, to not be able to get through someone to their determent drives her crazy. I completely sympathize as I am the same way. I identified quite a bit with Ros which is probably why this story hit me in a couple of my weak spots. Spots I thought that scarred over only to find that I could still feel the phantom pain when Ros recalls her loss.
Lawrence as the love interest to Ros is perfect. He is a strong man who is intrigued with sexual submission. There are so many misconceptions and bad stereotypes of male submissives. Ms. Hill addresses these and also dispels them. Lawrence's erotic epiphany and exploration under Ros's experienced hands is sublime. When it comes to sweet and sexy kink, Ms. Hill is one of the best. Her writing transports the reader into the room with the couple. I could smell, see, hear and feel everything vicariously. Ms. Hill may consider herself a storywitch... I also add the title of sensual siren. Her magical writing lures me in and keeps me captivated, even after the story ends.
There are so many points to this lengthy novel I enjoyed. The kink scenes are well designed and give the sweet pain and rough pleasure I enjoy. The bondage is just right for those starting into kink. Whilst the heat to this kink is supernova, the actual scenes are good for new to kink. I highly recommend this erotic novel to kinky readers who would like to experience the wild side under a woman's velvet touch.
