Review: Hideaway

HideawayHideaway by Nora Roberts

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

When it comes to romance, Ms. Roberts is an automatic buy and read for me. This latest romance mixed with suspense is fantastic. This long romance novel is rich in emotion, familial bonding, betrayals and the will to survive and adapt.

The scrappy little girl, Caitlyn is so easy to admire and love. It hurts to witness how little her mother thinks of her. Fortunately this is counteracted by the love of her father and grandparents. Growing up as a wealthy family child comes with it's own complication. Caitlyn fortunately grew up with a level head and well adjusted. It helped that she kept in contact with the family that helped protect her after a childhood abduction.

Ms. Roberts does an amazing job of laying out the history and then bringing us to current day, an all grown up Caitlyn. Joining her in her new chapter of adult life is a treat. Ms. Roberts creates a wonderful character that embodies what to aspire to be. Caitlyn is a woman who is all too human with her past scars. She rises above it and doesn't lay blame with "mommy issues". She takes control of her life and continues to believe in the good of others. Her re-connection with Dillon brings her life back into a completed loop. It is as if this time around, Dillon is the one for her.

I loved the romance between Dillon and Caitlyn. It comes across with real life problems and how to adjust to have the best of both worlds. Their friendship, trust and admiration for each other naturally blossoms into a strong love. When it comes to building a world of believable and likeable characters, Ms. Roberts consistent delivers. Her contemporary romance flows so smoothly and reel a reader in. I loved this romance from beginning to end. Highly recommended to all romance lovers.
