Review: French Maid: Ariel: A Billionaire Suspense Glamour Novel

French Maid: Ariel: A Billionaire Suspense Glamour Novel French Maid: Ariel: A Billionaire Suspense Glamour Novel by Blair Presley
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

The premise of this book plus the name of it piqued my interest.  I like an escort service where the escorts dress as French Maids.  The execution of this book is rough.  I generally am pretty forgiving and miss mistakes.  In this book, it is unfortunate with a couple glaring grammatical errors that even I can pick up and using the wrong characters name twice for two other characters. This lack of attention to detail generally means an author needs to edit more carefully or find a better editor.

Ariel is a sweet and cute character.  Her concerns and wanting to do the right thing makes her likeable.  From there, it goes downhill.  Here are a few things which could elevate the story a bit.  First, the villain of the story felt contrived.  Perhaps build it up more so it makes more sense why the villain is even in the story at all.  Second, if this is going to be a story about escorts, let's have a few more escort scenes and they need to be better.  The sex scenes in here are not enough to bribe me for an extra star.  Third, pick which way this story is going to go, is it going to focus on the character development, romance or sex?  It came across as a bit of a mess because there is little focus other than Ariel finding the man of her dreams and getting laid with him.

There is nothing wrong with this main plot, but let's at least have a little bit better sex.  To be frank, I have read better stories on Literotica covering similar material.  And this is why I am a bit disappointed.  Ms. Presley does give it a try, but this needs to be better either through a more polished writing, intense sex or tighter plot.  Overall, it is a nice try and the concept is cool.  The execution could have been better for me.
