Review: Rule Changer

Rule Changer Rule Changer by Sienna Snow
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Finally I read this 3rd book in the sexy kinky Rules of Engagement Trilogy. Not sure why I took so long to get to this book because this series is a solid 4 star across the board.  Whilst this can be read as a standalone, it is better to read this book after reading the first two books.

The thread that ties these three books together is now coming to an end.  With Carmen Dane, she is the one who figures out why Cristof, a Russian terrorist/mobster is after her and her friends.  Mixed with this hide and seek with Cristof, Carmen confronts Thomas, the latest in the line of men who have broken her heart and placed someone else ahead of her.

This story is filled with angst as Carmen and Thomas try to reconcile.  Carmen's trust of Thomas broken as a Domme who made the choice to submit to Thomas only to be horrifically rejected, it is going to be a tough battle for Thomas.  I am a bit mixed with Thomas demanding Carmen's submission.  It can happen, two dominants who will switch with each other.  It tends to be complicated and messy which is how Ms. Snow details it out.  It is something Carmen has to wrestle with several times as she doesn't accept her submission as easily as Thomas will accept his.  Although I argue the fact that Thomas ever submits.  He bottoms for Carmen but never gives over his power in an erotic exchange.  Yet he seems to demand Carmen to yield in submission, not to only bottom.  If it works for them, let it be.

The suspense part of this story is nicely woven into Carmen and Thoma's conflicted relationship.  All the different threads tie nicely together as Ms. Snow creates a well written story with a focused plot, likeable characters and realistic conflicts.  Plus I loved the glitterkink aspect to this story.  Carmen's club is pretty hawt and I'd love to see it.  These characters are all uber wealthy and it is a fantasy to live their lifestyle.  If only...

Rule Changer is a stunning conclusion to this erotic trilogy.  Highly recommended as a gateway to BDSM book.
