Review: Dungeon Royale
Dungeon Royale by Lexi Blake
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
One of the earlier Lexi Blake Masters and Mercenaries book, I read this 5 years ago, in 2016. This series is addictive and they get better and better. I love spy movies and when it gets kinky, even better. Ms. Blake creates a 007 - Bondage with Love in this series. I am betting the title even pays homage to James Bond.

This book is where we are introduced more thoroughly to Damon Knight. He is the British Ian Taggart. Which, now that I think about it... is Ian named after the creator of James Bond? Maybe...I digress. Damon's story parallels his American friends - McKay-Taggarts. In many ways, these agents seem to get burned by the company that created them. The red tape, politic backstabbing and discarding of the old guard is a bit depressing.
Damon is paired up with Penelope aka Penny to solve their piece to taking down this mysterious "Collective". I now am wondering if Penelope's name is an homage to Ms. Moneypenny. This story is high on action in both finding their criminals and sexual interludes. When it comes to mixing suspense and sex, Ms. Blake excels at it. This story is a quick read and the start of the British partnership for the McKay-Taggarts. Recommended to erotic romance readers who enjoy suspense with snarky dialog and a British "stiff upper lip".
