Blood Nor Money by Colette Rhodes
My rating: 3.5 of 5 stars

Ms. Rhodes is quickly becoming an automatic read author. I first found her with a delicious duology re-telling of Goldilocks and the Three bears.  This one book is a standalone and completely original.  Vampires battling ennui and others wanting world domination, what's not to like?

Calvus and Louis are brother in arms.  Ever since Calvus saved Louis six centuries ago, they have been together.  Together traveling the world and watching over Calvus's obsession - Porcia.  Both Calvus and Porcia were created over two millennium ago.  Whilst Calvus knows pretty much everything about Porcia, she is in the dark about him.  Calvus is fine with the status quo - unrequited love for centuries.  This is all about to change when a vampire decides to claim Porcia as his "queen".

Porcia roughly knows that she has two admirers of the centuries keeping her safe from afar.  She isn't aware just how much they have done for her.  Things come to ahead and all secrets are torn from their keepers when Porcia is threatened.

I found this story interesting as three different male vampires tried to find their balance with a very reluctant female.  Porcia's baggage from over 2000 years ago is surprising.  One would think she would have gotten over it.  But it appears her guilt and her own shame of what she became when she was a mortal carried on for much too long.  Or as I would call it, she let a man's idiocy define who she was for over 2000 years.  Whilst she kept herself locked in her own mental and emotional cage, she did help others over the years who were abused or downtrodden.  She made good use of her life, she just never seemed to live hers. When the 3 males, Calvus, Louis and Tir force her to confront her fears, the story heats up.

Specifically it heats up in the sexy times.  The sex in this story isn't exactly kinky but it isn't too vanilla either.  Ms. Rhodes generates some amazing sexual tension and she seems to enjoy being a tease.  The cock teasing and constant edging on this story is erotically hawt.  I enjoyed it!  What's the quickest way to a woman's heart?  Find her g-spot and give her multiple orgasms!  Hah.  This erotic romance is recommended to paranormal readers who enjoy reverse harem themes.
