The Ultimate Guide to Sex After Fifty: How to Maintain – or Regain – a Spicy, Satisfying Sex Life The Ultimate Guide to Sex After Fifty: How to Maintain – or Regain – a Spicy, Satisfying Sex Life by Joan Price
My rating: 3.5 of 5 stars

We finish the year off with this long-overdue book review.  This is a non-fiction book which may be a bit dry for some readers.  The information is repetitive at times which is helpful for most adult learners.  This is well written and easy to read.  There is more in here that you would think to ask for most people who are sexually repressed.  Overall, I found this book to be pretty straightforward and no different for people under 50.  For those who may find this book too long and won't read it, here are my highlights.

For old people
  1. Getting it on takes more effort and planning.
  2. Sex is defined as more than just inserting peg A into slot B.
  3. Body image is still a thing for both men and women.
  4. Big Bad Pharma maintenance drugs will cause loss of sex drive, dryness in vagina walls, and erectile dysfunction.
  5. Exercising and eating well helps increase sex drive and body image.  (Go figure...)
There is a lot more covered here such as different lubrications and how to spice up your life through kink.  It is important to note that just because an old woman can't get pregnant doesn't mean that we should go bareback.  STDs or STIs are still prevalent.

Some of the things I learned that I didn't know about.  They have come up with newer and better feeling female condoms.  They aren't cheap but they do sound pretty nifty and easy to use.  Plus it feels like going bareback.  For those who have larger circumference dicks, this may be a better option than using standard condoms.  One thing that really concerned me is that some assisted living homes or retirement homes have policies NOT ALLOWING SEX!

What the ever-loving FUCK?  So if you are going to move into a "home" make sure you check their sex policy.  Some of these assholes administrators don't allow fraternization and/or masturbation.  Really, what the fuck?  This is probably the most alarming thing to learn about in this book.  Now I have to worry about people condemning sexuality.  I really feel that should not be allowed and those administrators can go fuck themselves.  I digress.

This book is applicable to people of all ages. People need to communicate, work out and think about sexuality positively.  This is definitely a sex-positive book and I enjoyed it.  Recommended for people who think sex is over after 50.  Spoiler alert: It is not.
