My rating: 3 of 5 stars

A rough ride all the way to her 18th birthday, Rowan continues to learn about her life as a werewolf.  The fated mate bond to 5 other young adult males is a bit overwhelming for her but she's handling it as best as she can.  With an absentee adoptive dad, mean girls at school, and a jealous bitch at the werewolf compound... what more could happen?

This is an additional drama with a sullen mate and an adoptive father who is completely unrecognizable to Rowan.  When more people try to capture Rowan and the all-powerful Council show up unexpectedly, it is more than she can handle.

There seems to not be a single moment of rest for Rowan.  I'm not sure how she is even going to graduate her senior year at the rate she is missing school.  Who has time for homework when there are boys to make out with and bond?

This book finally moves into the sexy times.  It's as one would expect for juveniles... specifically a female minor having sex with boys her age.  I tended to skim over these scenes because I can't get it out of my head that these are minors.  Not really into underage sex.

Sexy times aside, Rowan is growing into her powers and she's receiving a crash course in werewolf culture.  The amount of emotional hits she receives in this book is pretty major.  I'm surprised how well she is handling it and I like her better for it.  She's not melodramatic.  Those around her may be, but she's pretty even-keeled through all these upheavals.  Warning, this book does end in a cliffhanger so for readers who hate these, maybe wait until the 3rd book is out.

This book is recommended to New Adult readers who are into reverse harem themes.
