Bond of Destiny by Tessa Hale
My rating: 3.5 of 5 stars

An electrifying ending to this Trilogy, it starts off right where book two ended.  Rowan has been kidnapped.  Her mates' bonds are closed off to her and apparently the evil guy . . . is her father.  The man who broke her biological mother.  The one who made it so that her mother gave her up and lost out some of the best years of their lives.  The mother who is now so traumatized and broken, it is debatable if she can recover.  And her father wants to do the same to her.

Well, this is going to be a doozy and strap-in.  This is going to be a rough ride.  The big reveals happen in this book and some of them may be a surprise.  Others may not be.  The end game that Rowan's father wants is the standard evil overlord desires.  He doesn't care who he kills or steps on to get what he wants.  What I find interesting is how or why people align with him when they can see how disposable people are to him.  Rowan's resistance is admirable but she only has to suffer a couple days of it.  Unlike others.

This may be a darker book for some.  I found it to be okay.  This plot-driven book is all about defeating the one who is causing all the trouble.  Ms. Hale does a good job of bringing it together.  Her conflicts are plausible and how she resolves them is also believable.  I guess for me, the reason why it is not a 4 star is that the story still felt a bit flat?  I'm not sure how to describe it.  Maybe it was predictable and lacked a multilayered complexity I find from other paranormal writes.

The story is still well written.  The dialogue is well done.  The characters are memorable. There is a good amount of sex for those who are interested in reverse harems.  The guys do not touch each other.  It is still all attention, eyes, hands, etc. on Rowan.

The conclusion is a satisfying showdown that brings forth closure.  If only real life would turn out this way.  This paranormal romance is recommended to readers who like fated mates and reverse harem themes.
