Review: Lust

Lust @SNHunt1_Author ##ThrowbackThursdays
Lust by S.N. Hunt
My rating: 3.5 of 5 stars

New-to-me author S.N. Hunt kicks off the series with a provocative concept.  What if... what if the line between demon and angels is a bit more blurred? This is a dark novel about a woman who has been trampled and beaten by her so-called boyfriend.  I have yet to see anything good about gangs and yet our youth constantly get mixed up in gangs and either die young or regret getting involved.  Donna may not be part of the gang as a member, but she is the top honcho's son's girlfriend.

For those who do not like battered women scenes, this does have several.  They are not made to be erotic or sexy.  They are straight-up abuse and the author is clear about this part.  What is the erotic and sexy part (which is why it picked this book up) is how Donna is saved by Adam.  Adam is the first brother of 7 who will find their mate.  I won't delve too much into what is happening in the story as I don't want to give spoilers.  Suffice to say, it is intriguing and I liked reading it.

Adam is romantic and does all the right things to bring Donna out of her shell.  He is the demon of lust.   It is less erotic and more sexually empowering.  I like how Adam builds Donna up and helps her heal.  I have to say, reading how the business is set up by these "Princes", I am iffy on if they should really be categorized as demons.  For the more religious Christians, this story is probably a blasphemous interpretation and may raise your hackles.  For those of us that can read and appreciate fiction, it is an enjoyable read.  This dark romance is recommended to paranormal readers who like anti-heroes with a heart of gold.

* I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
