Sloth by S.N. Hunt
My rating: 3.5 of 5 stars

The plot thickens as book 3 starts up right where book 2 ends.  Sloth left his brothers to chase after the one he thinks is his soul mate.  His mate has been captured by a sex slavery ring.  Sloth loses his mind as he does his best to find her.  I enjoyed an unexpected plot device in this story that makes this story even better.  I hesitate to reveal anything because I do not want to ruin it.

Sylvia, Sloth's mate is doomed to an endless cycle of suffering.  The whys of her torment are revealed in this book and it is a doozy.  The brutality of one group which is supposed to be the "good guys" is intense.  For die-hard Christians, this book may be blasphemy for you and you might want to take a pass on it.  For those who are into different interpretations and suppositions, carry on.

Gabriel is Sylvia's guardian angel but his responsibilities may different than what most people would guess.  He is Sloth's cousin and they definitely end up rubbing each other wrong as they both try to save and protect Sylvia.  This conflict makes the story work, especially as their past catches up with them.

There are several pieces missing from this series that are being slowly doled out in each of the books.  I have so many questions and hypotheses as to what really happened and what will happen.  This keeps me interested in the series and wanting to read the very next one immediately.  I am thrilled that this story is more than an erotic sex fest.  There is character development as well as an intriguing story arc.  The world-building is a bit lighter since the focus is on the paranormal romance part.  I liked the characters in this story and the way they come together is heartwarming.  The sexy times are hawt and enjoyable.  This paranormal romance is recommended to erotic readers who love bad boys with tender hearts.

* I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
