The Sassy Submissive by Golden Angel
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Looking for a Gateway to BDSM book?  Look no further.  This first book in the Stronghold Doms series is a fun and sexy exploration into the world of kink.  We follow along with Angel as she tries to learn about BDSM.  Her exploration as a single is nicely done with safety in mind.  I am intrigued.

I did find the conflict to be a non-issue.  More like a contrived issue from the man.  Adam's baggage negatively impacts Angel's experience at the BDSM club and that is disappointing.  It is realistic though.  In real life, dominants are not these perfect people who never misstep.  It's nice to see the author showcase a very plausible scenario.  Fortunately, the misunderstanding is moved past and we are able to experience the sexy sensory scenes.

What I like about the club here is that it isn't some "glitterkink" club just for the rich.  Instead, it's an accurate description of a possible club.  I really liked the intro night because it would help newbies so much.  Unfortunately in real life, this doesn't happen as much and can be subject to abuse.

Overall, I liked this story because I liked Angel.  Her job and her housemates . . . everything about her is appealing.  How she makes friends and how she integrates so easily with this new community is delightful.  This is a lovely story more about the community and learning about oneself rather than focusing on the romance of it.  This erotic romance is recommended as a Gateway to BDSM book.
