Blog Tour: The Two Gentlemen of Altona
Hi! We’re Lisa Henry and J.A. Rock, the authors of THE TWO
GENTLEMEN OF ALTONA. We’re touring the web taking about our influences, our
processes, anything we can think about actually, and even giving you guys a
sneak peak or two! And what would a blog tour be without a contest? Check out
the details at the bottom of the post to see what you can win!
Today
we’re taking a look at the background cast. This time it’s the FBI.
In
our PLAYING THE FOOL series, we have a wide cast of supporting characters. Some
of them are more prominent than others, but they’ve all got their roles to
play. Today we’re taking a look at the Feds.
These
are Mac’s colleagues. They might be his friends, if he was a little more
approachable. And at least one might be his enemy, but he doesn’t know that
yet.
Lina
Berg: Lina is a translator. She’s far too smart to be working where she works.
She’s married to a fire fighter (lucky Lina!) and has three teenage kids.
Calvin
Hooper: Calvin is a guy’s guy. He goes to the gym every day. He always has at
least two different girls calling him. He is not-so-secretly in love with
Penny, who thinks he’s a manwhore and wouldn’t touch him with a ten foot pole.
Jeff
Cavill: Jeff is an analyst. He’s great with computers and technology. He’s got
a wife and two sons.
Dwayne
Marks: Dwayne is very good at his job. He has a wife and small kids. He also
has an ex-wife, and the alimony is killing him.
Penny
Vandenburg: Penny is an agent who has been on light duties since a round of
shoulder surgery. She is desperate to get out of the office and back into the
field, and going stir-crazy while she waits for her medical clearance. She
thinks Calvin is a tool. She’s probably right.
Alex
Kingsley: Alex is a forensic accountant who is generally quiet, bookish, and
overlooked. It’s Alex’s birthday? Alex who?
Dennis
Hines: Dennis has a funny nose. Also, he keeps pestering Mac to join the
softball team. Give it up, Dennis, it’s never going to happen.
Emilio
Morales: Emilio is an agent in the background of the background. Is he even
mentioned by name in the books? Who can even remember that now? Spoiler alert:
nothing Emilio says or does has any impact on anything that happens in these
books.
Paula
Loomis: Paula is not an agent. She works in admin. She keeps a plant on her
desk. Henry keeps promising to feng shui her work space. Mac thinks feng shui
is bullshit.
About THE TWO
GENTLEMEN OF ALTONA:
Mischief,
thou art afoot.
Special Agent
Ryan “Mac” McGuinness is having a rough week. Not only is he on a new diet, but
he’s also been tasked with keeping Henry Page—the world’s most irritating
witness—alive. Which is tough when Mac’s a breath away from killing the
Shakespeare-quoting, ethically-challenged, egg-obsessed Henry himself. Unless
killing isn’t really what Mac wants to do to him.
Con man Henry
Page prefers to keep his distance from the law . . . though he wouldn’t mind
getting a little closer to uptight, handsome Agent McGuinness. As the sole
witness to a mob hit, Henry’s a valuable asset to the FBI. But he’s got his own
agenda, and it doesn’t involve testifying.
When evidence
surfaces of a mole in the FBI office, Mac and Henry are forced to go into
hiding. Holed up in a fishing cabin, they’re surprised to discover that their
feelings run more than skin deep. But as the mob closes in, Henry has to make
his escape. And Mac has to decide how far he’s willing to go to keep Henry by
his side.
THE TWO GENTLEMEN
OF ALTONA is the first in our PLAYING THE FOOL trilogy. Book 2, THE MERCHANT OF
DEATH, will be available on February 2. Book 3, TEMPEST, will be released March
9.
