Blog Tour: The Two Gentlemen of Altona

Hi! We’re Lisa Henry and J.A. Rock, the authors of THE TWO GENTLEMEN OF ALTONA. We’re touring the web taking about our influences, our processes, anything we can think about actually, and even giving you guys a sneak peak or two! And what would a blog tour be without a contest? Check out the details at the bottom of the post to see what you can win!

Today we’re taking a look at the background cast. This time it’s the FBI.

In our PLAYING THE FOOL series, we have a wide cast of supporting characters. Some of them are more prominent than others, but they’ve all got their roles to play. Today we’re taking a look at the Feds.

These are Mac’s colleagues. They might be his friends, if he was a little more approachable. And at least one might be his enemy, but he doesn’t know that yet.

Lina Berg: Lina is a translator. She’s far too smart to be working where she works. She’s married to a fire fighter (lucky Lina!) and has three teenage kids.

Calvin Hooper: Calvin is a guy’s guy. He goes to the gym every day. He always has at least two different girls calling him. He is not-so-secretly in love with Penny, who thinks he’s a manwhore and wouldn’t touch him with a ten foot pole.

Jeff Cavill: Jeff is an analyst. He’s great with computers and technology. He’s got a wife and two sons.

Dwayne Marks: Dwayne is very good at his job. He has a wife and small kids. He also has an ex-wife, and the alimony is killing him.

Penny Vandenburg: Penny is an agent who has been on light duties since a round of shoulder surgery. She is desperate to get out of the office and back into the field, and going stir-crazy while she waits for her medical clearance. She thinks Calvin is a tool. She’s probably right.

Alex Kingsley: Alex is a forensic accountant who is generally quiet, bookish, and overlooked. It’s Alex’s birthday? Alex who?

Dennis Hines: Dennis has a funny nose. Also, he keeps pestering Mac to join the softball team. Give it up, Dennis, it’s never going to happen.

Emilio Morales: Emilio is an agent in the background of the background. Is he even mentioned by name in the books? Who can even remember that now? Spoiler alert: nothing Emilio says or does has any impact on anything that happens in these books.

Paula Loomis: Paula is not an agent. She works in admin. She keeps a plant on her desk. Henry keeps promising to feng shui her work space. Mac thinks feng shui is bullshit.

About THE TWO GENTLEMEN OF ALTONA:

Mischief, thou art afoot.

Special Agent Ryan “Mac” McGuinness is having a rough week. Not only is he on a new diet, but he’s also been tasked with keeping Henry Page—the world’s most irritating witness—alive. Which is tough when Mac’s a breath away from killing the Shakespeare-quoting, ethically-challenged, egg-obsessed Henry himself. Unless killing isn’t really what Mac wants to do to him.

Con man Henry Page prefers to keep his distance from the law . . . though he wouldn’t mind getting a little closer to uptight, handsome Agent McGuinness. As the sole witness to a mob hit, Henry’s a valuable asset to the FBI. But he’s got his own agenda, and it doesn’t involve testifying.

When evidence surfaces of a mole in the FBI office, Mac and Henry are forced to go into hiding. Holed up in a fishing cabin, they’re surprised to discover that their feelings run more than skin deep. But as the mob closes in, Henry has to make his escape. And Mac has to decide how far he’s willing to go to keep Henry by his side.

THE TWO GENTLEMEN OF ALTONA is the first in our PLAYING THE FOOL trilogy. Book 2, THE MERCHANT OF DEATH, will be available on February 2. Book 3, TEMPEST, will be released March 9.

You can preorder the series, and check out excerpts, at Riptide.

INTERVIEW WITH BEAST

La Crimson Femme: Welcome, Beast. Thank you for popping in. You and Jane have been together for centuries. Please share with us your favorite memory of Jane and why.
Beast: Jane is Beast and Beast is Jane. Beast’s best memory of Jane is Jane using fingers to get out of cage. Was first time Beast thought human-shape was im-por-tant. Jane saved Beast/Jane. Was good memory. And … (perks ears, thinking) When Jane first saw/smelled Bruiser, primo to vampire Leo Pellissier. Wanted both as mate. Was gooood memory. (chuffs)
La Crimson Femme: Yes, Bruiser and Leo together would be divine. *fans self* I can understand why Beast would want bo…

Sensual Stapling

What? How can stapling be sexy?Who wants to be stapled? How on earth did these BDSM deviants pervert a stapler?
Are these the thoughts running through your head? They were the thoughts running through my head. The only time I've seen stapling done on a person is on the Jackass Movie. There doesn't seem to be a clip of it on Youtube. However, Steve-O from Jackass did do it again with a regular stapler here.
The stapler I'm referring to is NOT a regular office stapler or a staple gun found at a hardware store.Could you use those?Yes.Is it advisable? No.Instead, we are going to learn about surgical staple guns. There are a couple of different brands.
The focus of this topic is where you can staple and how you can mix it up in your scene.
Safety
Yes, it's safety time again! It's boring but mandatory.
First, stapling does cause a break in the skin.Depending on the person and sometimes even the time of the month, a person may or ma…

Chemical Play

What is chemical play? Is it acids that are used to burn body parts? No. It's using different types of substances to illicit sensation on the skin and perhaps in the body. Generally the substances are in liquid form for easy application. I'm going to go through only the ones I've used. I am sure there are more. Hopefully others will be happy to share their experiences. As usual, I'm going to use the terms Top and bottom for the person applying the person receiving, respectively.

Safety first

With chemical play, while there is a lessor possibility of harm, it still exists. There can be adverse reactions. It could be a person is allergic to the chemical. It is important to ask about any allergies the bottom may have.

Another thing to be concerned with chemical play is where it contacts. There are some things which can burn and temporarily damage delicate mucus membranes. Not everyone's body reacts the same to chemicals so it …
